Shedeur Sanders Releases New Track Called ‘Turn Back’ — Unleashes Rhymes On His Haters [VIDEO]

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has stepped back into the music world with the release of a new track, ‘Turn Back.’ The song finds the rookie addressing critics as he continues his push for the Browns’ starting quarterback job.

Sanders released the track on July 19. He uses the lyrics to reflect on the criticism that has followed him throughout his football career.

“Too many people want to see me fail; they still talk down on my name, but I wish them well,” he raps. “I’m living free, but mentally I’m in a cell.”

He later adds:

“People switch up on me, but it didn’t go as planned. I can’t respect that man; you’re supposed to stay down ’til the end. They turned their back on me, so ain’t no turning back to them. So when I pop it, I promise it ain’t gonna be no new friends.”

The release comes as Sanders competes for the starting quarterback role in Cleveland. He told reporters he and Deshaun Watson remain focused on becoming the best versions of themselves while supporting each other throughout camp in a recent interview.

Sanders said neither quarterback has taken the competition personally. Instead, he explained that mutual respect has defined the atmosphere inside the Browns’ quarterback room.

Football is not the only family tradition Sanders has embraced. His father, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, also explored music during his NFL career, releasing multiple rap albums in the 1990s, including one called ‘Prime Time’.
