Makai Lemon has been making a ton of waves at the NFL combine. They haven’t necessarily been for the greatest of reasons.
His first viral moment was of the former USC Trojans wide receiver giving sassy facial expressions when speaking to reporters. Lemon spoke to the media on Friday before working out at the NFL Combine on Saturday. The draft prospect compared his style to Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Sunday brought harsh feedback from NFL circles about Lemon’s podium appearance. Former LSU star Breiden Fehoko said a scout questioned Lemon’s approach to the interview process. Lemon completely failed the media portion.
It does not appear that Lemon pays much attention to things going on around him, either.
Makai Lemon Doesn’t Pay Attention At The NFL Combine
During the workout portion of the NFL combine, footage showed Makai Lemon not paying attention to a coach. He was telling the players what they should be doing next. At the same time, the former USC wideout was looking around and not paying attention.

The USC wide receiver has been a projected 1st round pick for months. However, he may have done a ton of damage to himself at the combine.
In 2025, Lemon had 79 receptions for 1,156 and 13 total touchdowns. He had just 6 receptions for 88 yards and no touchdowns as a freshman in 2023. Lemon showed flashes in 2024 with 52 receptions for 764 yards and 3 touchdowns.
His talent is too good to pass up.
