The Buffalo Bills are regrouping and recharging to challenge for the Vince Lombardi Trophy in the 2026 NFL season. Josh Allen and Co. suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of the 2025 NFL playoffs, finishing what many thought was their best shot at the title on a low note.

With Sean McDermott out as head coach and Joe Brady taking over, the Bills entered the offseason with renewed expectations. They still need a true WR1 to fill the void Stefon Diggs left after the 2023 season. Big names, such as Brandon Aiyuk, have been mentioned among potential targets.

Making a trade won’t be the only option they have to add firepower to the offense. Although it might be complex, they could add talent in free agency.

Buffalo Bills Could Make A Swing For Rashid Shaheed

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated sees Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed as a potential target for Buffalo in free agency. Considering that the Cowboys will likely tag George Pickens, Shaheed could be a strong option.

“One would be 27-year-old Seahawks receiver Rashid Shaheed, who may be a match made in heaven for Josh Allen—a deep threat who could weaponize Allen’s ability to push the ball downfield,” Breer wrote on Wednesday. “Shaheed’s never had a season with 60 catches or 750 yards, but the potential tied to his game-breaking ability is tantalizing. And until he joined the Seahawks midseason this year, he never had much stability at quarterback.”

Shaheed joined the Seahawks from the New Orleans Saints ahead of the trade deadline. He posted 59 receptions for 687 yards and two touchdowns.

Another name to keep in mind was Alec Pierce, who thrived with Daniel Jones as quarterback in Indianapolis. Even with Jones out with injury, Pierce continued to deliver for the Colts.
