Up-And-Coming NFC Team Emerges As Likely Landing Spot For Star WR Deebo Samuel

Deebo Samuel is one of the best free agents still available in 2026. The veteran wide receiver had a solid 2025 season with the Washington Commanders, although the capital team decided to void his contract.
The 30-year-old is past his best days, but Samuel can still make an impact on almost every team in the league. His future doesn’t seem to be clear at the moment, but he could land on a team needing another wide receiver.
On Wednesday, Nick Shook of NFL.com mentioned the Carolina Panthers as a potential landing spot for Samuel.
“I have no idea how the Panthers view Xavier Legette, a playmaker who tempts onlookers into believing he can become a star but isn’t nearly consistent enough to realize that potential yet. We know they have a stud in Tetairoa McMillan, and I’m personally a fan of Jalen Coker. Carolina already added John Metchie III, but why stop there? Throw Samuel, a rugged slot whose best days are admittedly behind him, into the equation to give Bryce Young another option,” Shook wrote.
Deebo Samuel Had Decent 2025 Season With Washington Commanders

The San Francisco 49ers traded Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders ahead of the 2025 NFL season. He bounced back after a rocky 2024 season, catching 72 passes for 727 yards and five touchdowns.
The Commanders struggled a lot and finished with a 5-12 record, ranking third in the NFC East standings. Dan Quinn’s team carries renewed expectations for 2026, but Samuel won’t be on the roster.
Carolina was inconsistent last season, but if they can get past those issues, adding a player like Samuel would only benefit them.
