Jaxson Dart may have thrown a massive monkey wrench into the 2026 NFL season just by being seen with Donald Trump.

The Giants held an internal meeting to address the firestorm that came about following Dart’s appearance at a political rally last weekend. It has dominated their offseason at the start of OTAs as a result. New York held a team meeting in which quarterback Jaxson Dart and several team leaders, such as linebackers Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux, spoke about the situation.

Dart’s decision drew public questioning from teammate Abdul Carter. He questioned if the viral video was AI before asking, “What are we doing, man?” which sparked an immediate firestorm. According to the New York Post, Carter was not at the team’s OTA or meeting on Wednesday. It was due to a family obligation related to a religious holiday, which he had advised the team of in advance.

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan stated the meeting discussed keeping matters in-house rather than airing grievances on social media. However, it seems at least one player needed to speak to Jaxson Dart personally.

Just when it looked like the Jaxson Dart–Abdul Carter controversy had quietly faded into the background, it came roaring back. Now, social media is in an uproar over a new report involving another teammate. However, there was a twist.

Another report states Kayvon Thibodeaux pulled Dart to the side during OTAs and became emotional when speaking to him.

“Kayvon Thibodeaux pulled Jaxson Dart to the side of OTAs today and was very emotional as he spoke to him. It is believed this was due to Jaxson Dart recently introducing President Trump, a post on X read.

Unfortunately, not a lot of people realized that the report and the picture were fake.

“This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. Imagine being a cry baby and having to pull someone to the side because their political opinion is different then yours. What is going on here 😂🤣,” one person replied.

“So Kayvon is a sensitive little b-tch who thinks everyone should have the same opinions as him? Got it,” a second fan wrote.

“Are we going to need to put a tampon dispenser in the visitor locker rooms now when the Giants come to play?” a third person added.

“If Kayvon is that sensitive, he should schedule some therapy,” a fourth person commented.

Sources told ESPN’s Jordan Raanan that Dart was “approached recently about meeting the president during a trip to New York.” It led him to introduce Trump prior to a speech at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York, last Friday.

We still have months to go before the start of the season, so this should die down.

The 23-year-old Jaxson Dart was selected 25th overall by the Giants in the 2025 NFL draft after a standout collegiate career at Ole Miss. He began his career as a backup, but was eventually named the starter. Dart went just 4-8, but he energized the offense.

He completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Dart also rushed for 487 yards and nine scores.
