The Pittsburgh Steelers have been busy to start the 2026 NFL offseason. While they try to bring Aaron Rodgers back after a 10-7 record and the AFC North title in 2025, the Steelers continue to explore other options.
Rodgers’ deadline to announce his decision was revealed on Tuesday. He wouldn’t take as much time as he did last offseason (he made his decision in June). Still, the Steelers prepare for different scenarios.
They have also been linked to a move for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, keeping their options open at the position. More than that, they need to improve the wide receiver room, and the front office has identified a solid option to join DK Metcalf.
Pittsburgh Steelers Have Inquired About Jacksonville Jaguars Star WR

Steelers reporter Andrew Fillipponi reported on Thursday that the team has engaged in talks with the Jaguars about third-year wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

Thomas entered the league on a strong note, playing 17 games, recording 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns. His production decreased dramatically in 2025. He played 14 games, catching 48 passes for 707 yards and two touchdowns.
The Steelers could give him a new scenario to thrive, either with Aaron Rodgers, Murray, Kirk Cousins, or even rookie QB Will Howard. Time will tell if the Jaguars pull the trigger, but this move could be big for Pittsburgh.
