The Cleveland Browns could use their best player to start a new era after they fired Kevin Stefanski and signed Todd Monken as their new head coach. The AFC North team entered the offseason with plenty of questions to answer, and defensive end Myles Garrett could be the key to unlock a major roster overhaul.
Garrett has been mentioned in multiple trade rumors this offseason. Some named him as a potential trade target for the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets, more so after he showed his frustrations with the team after Monken’s signing.
One analyst proposed a trade idea to send Garrett to an NFC contender ahead of the 2026 season. Coming off a record-breaking season, Garrett is a coveted player.
Myles Garrett Shipped To Lions In Blockbuster Trade Idea

Former NFL general manager Mike Tannebaum suggested that the Browns should trade Myles Garrett to the Detroit Lions. In exchange, Cleveland would receive two first-round picks and wide receiver Jameson Williams.
“You need so many weapons, you have so many holes to fill,” Tannenbaum said during Friday’s episode of ESPN’s “Get Up.” “If I’m the Browns, I do this to start the massive rebuild.”

Garrett broke the single-season record for sacks (23) in 2025. He added 60 tackles, 39 QB hits, 33 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles. His performances earned him his second Defensive Player of the Year award. The Lions have Aidan Hutchinson to put pressure on quarterbacks. However, pairing him with Garrett would take them to a new level.
