Tim Tebow has issued a warning to parents across the United States, and it’s very serious.

Tebow has spent years using his public platform to highlight threats facing children. The former NFL quarterback has become an outspoken advocate against human trafficking and child exploitation. He has supported efforts to identify victims and help vulnerable children.

His message is relevant as online threats continue to concern child-safety advocates.

Tebow is particularly concerned about child trafficking and online sexual exploitation.

Tebow’s wider advocacy has focused on child trafficking and online sexual exploitation. The Department of Homeland Security and his foundation announced a public service campaign urging families to take online child safety seriously in June.

DHS noted that the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline received over 21 million reports in 2025 alone. They included close to 62 million files related to child sexual exploitation.

The above helps explain why Tebow continues to push for awareness and action. His foundation also backed efforts to increase resources for investigators working to identify exploited children.

“It’s happening in their backyard,” he said during the summer. “The average age of trafficking for a boy or girl is between the ages of 12 and 14. One in six is under the age of 12. Do you think these children who are being trafficked are dreaming of what they could be one day?”

Tebow urged lawmakers to strengthen the federal response to child exploitation during testimony before a Senate subcommittee in March.

“It’s hard to imagine that so many boys and girls are being exploited by their own families. What are they thinking love looks like? Our heart is that they would truly know what love is. That they would know their God-given worth and value.

“You can be part of making that a reality for so many children in desperate need of Faith, Hope and Love. Will you stand in the gap to protect them and help disrupt human trafficking here in the United States?”

While parents cannot protect their children, they can definitely pay more attention to their kids’ online activities and help them identify threats.

Tebow’s message suggests he wants parents to be proactive and not reactive when it comes to protecting their children, given how easy it is for them to be exploited.
