Las Vegas Raiders ‘In the Market’ for Pro Bowl Cornerback

It turns out, Pete Carroll, Geno Smith, and Ashton Jeanty aren’t enough to turn the Las Vegas Raiders into a winner. While those three additions were supposed to help an offense that ranked 29th in scoring a year ago, they’re still ranked 29th in 2025, too.
Yet, the Raiders also have significant problems on defense too, where they allow the 23rd most points in the NFL, slightly better than when they ranked 25th last year. However, the Raiders could be on the verge of trying to make at least one impact addition on defense.
According to Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline, the Raiders “will be in the market” for Seattle Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen. The Seahawks have reportedly placed the Pro Bowl cornerback on the trade block, and since he’s only under contract for the rest of the season, Woolen is a prime trade candidate.
“Speculation is that, depending on the price, the Las Vegas Raiders will be in the market for Woolen. This not only fills a need at cornerback for the team, but it reunites Woolen with Pete Carroll, who was in part responsible for drafting the defensive back out of UTSA back in 2022.”
Perhaps reuniting with coach Carroll is exactly what Woolen needs to get back on track. After all, he had his lone Pro Bowl season as a rookie under Carroll. He recorded six interceptions in his rookie season, but only five in the 36 games since.
If the Raiders can get Woolen back to playing at an elite level, then perhaps he can be part of the solution in Vegas instead of Seattle possibly viewing him as a potential problem.
