Los Angeles Rams Were Reportedly Ready To Let Go Of Star WR In Their Pursuit Of A.J. Brown

The Los Angeles Rams joined the A.J. Brown race last week, while the rest of the league shifted its focus to different players. The Philadelphia Eagles changed their asking price for the former Tennessee Titans star, with the Rams and the New England Patriots showing interest in him.
Los Angeles backed out of the Brown race, with the Patriots still in contention to land the Super Bowl champion. The Eagles also decided to wait before engaging in trade talks for Brown again.
More details surfaced on Sunday, with Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reporting that the Rams were willing to move one of their stars if they could add Brown.
Los Angeles Rams Nearly Traded Davante Adams During A.J. Brown Pursuit

On Sunday, Florio said that, as part of their attempt to lure Brown to Los Angeles, the Rams studied the possibility of shipping Davante Adams elsewhere.
“Per a league source, the Rams — while talking about a possible trade for Brown — were pursuing the possibility of trading Adams,” Florio wrote.
“The Rams presumably were hoping to get a deal done by today, when a fully-guaranteed $6 million roster bonus came due. And the payment of the bonus likely means they’ll keep Adams and his $18 million base salary.”
Adams joined the Rams in the 2025 offseason, following a terrible 2024 campaign with the Las Vegas Raiders and the New York Jets. He led the league in receiving touchdowns (14) and helped the Rams play in the 2025 NFC championship game.
He could be a valuable trade ship, but the Rams ruled themselves out of the Brown race.
