Puka Nacua stayed in the news all week. The Los Angeles Rams star just got a lot of attention for his words and social media activity. On Friday, Hallie Aiono, his ex-girlfriend, added to all these by posting a selfie that got famous enough.
Aiono shared iton Instagram while wearing a white T-shirt that read “GOOFY FOR YOU.” The timing played its role, as Nacua was already dealing with a tough stretch, and the post quickly shifted attention toward her.
Nacua had already faced criticism earlier in the week after appearing in a long interview with streamers Adin Ross and N3on. Clips from the stream went viral before the Rams played the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. One clip showed Nacua doing a celebration that could upset Jewish viewers, and it ultimately did that.
He apologized on Instagram before the Rams’ game.“I deeply apologize to anyone who was offended by my actions as I do not stand for any form of racism, bigotry or hate of another group of people,” he wrote.
Puka Nacua’s Drama Hides His Numbers
Nacua also went after NFL referees during the same livestream. He repeated those complaints after the Rams lost to the Seahawks, posting his thoughts on social media before quickly deleting them. On Friday, the NFL fined him $25,000 for those comments.
However, everything happening off the field took attention away from a big game. Nacua caught 12 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns, but the Rams still lost. Everyone was more busy with what he said than how he played.
Aiono’s post came in as a surprise amidst all these. She and Nacua dated for about three and a half years before splitting in early 2025. The breakup turned messy and led to a paternity test, which confirmed Nacua is the father of their son, Kingston.
Despite the breakup, there have been signs of a good bond now. Aiono attended Nacua’s most recent game, and a video of which was later shared on social media.
