The Detroit Lions received terrible news on Thursday when a wide receiver went down with a serious injury at practice.

Detroit dealt with multiple serious injuries in 2025, having several key players on the injury report, with many losing multiple games, too.

The 2026 offseason also hit them with terrible news after a promising wide receiver sustained an injury that will keep him sidelined until the 2027 season.

Head coach Dan Campbell announced on Thursday that Law tore his ACL during a practice session this week. The rookie will have to wait until 2027 to make his NFL debut.

Kendrick Law, a Kentucky product selected in the fifth round of April’s draft, had 53 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns for the Wildcats last season. He spent three seasons at Alabama before transferring within the SEC.

Even with Law out, the Lions still have a talented wide receiver room. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Isaac TeSlaa, Cedrick Wilson and Greg Dortch remain healthy.
