Week 8 NFL Offense Rankings: Cowboys and Chiefs Continue to Impress
This article was originally published on Sportsnaut.

With Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season in the books, the pecking order of the best offenses in the league continues to change as teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs rise in the top 10. Ahead of this weekend’s games, let’s take a look at the best and worst units right now with our Week 8 NFL offense rankings.
32. Tennessee Titans (LW: 31)

In 2024, the Tennessee Titans’ offense was one of the worst in the league. Despite having some solid skills players like Calvin Ridley and Tony Pollard this year, as well as No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward, the unit remains among the very baddest in the NFL.
In their first game after Brian Callahan was fired, the offense was okay. They only scored 13 in another loss. However, Ward did show more progress and was far more accurate in his seventh game. Unfortunately, he was hounded by the Patriots front all day and sacked five times.
31. New Orleans Saints (LW: 30)

Despite speculation that rookie Tyler Shough would win the starting QB job, the New Orleans Saints have gone with 2024 fifth-rounder Spencer Rattler as their starting QB over the first half of 2025. With an offensive-minded coach and solid weapons in Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave, the NO offense should be a solid unit. But it simply hasn’t this season.
In Week 7, they fell for a second straight week, and their QB was a major reason why. Rattler had not one, not two, not three, but four turnovers on Sunday, including three through the air. One has to wonder how bad Shough must be in practice if the team hasn’t made a QB change yet.
30. New York Jets (LW: 29)

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glen had been challenged by the offense in his debut season. While the offense has a couple of high-impact talents in Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, new starting QB Justin Fields has been terrible in his first season in New York.
On Sunday, things got so bad after two quarters that Fields was benched for backup Tyrod Taylor. Unfortunately, the journeyman QB threw a pair of interceptions and was sacked three times in an ugly 13-6 loss to the Panthers. The Jets are quickly becoming one of the worst offenses in the NFL.

29. Cleveland Browns (LW: 32)

The Cleveland Browns’ offense has been an unsurprising mess again in 2025. While Joe Flacco was given the keys to the offense, the greybeard’s poor play led to getting benched after four starts. Thus far, the lone bright spot has been the strong play of rookie running back Quinshon Judkins.
However, Week 7 was a day for celebration in Cleveland. They got their second W of the season as the unit dropped a season high 31 on the Dolphins. While their numbers weren’t spectacular, they made Miami pay for their four turnovers all day, including Judkins and three more rushing TDs.
28. Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 21)

The Las Vegas Raiders’ offense’s lone bright spot last year was the emergence of Brock Bowers as one of the best tight ends in the league. However, in 2025, the young star has not been able to help pull this group out of being a mediocre defense, even with veteran QB Geno Smith.
Week 7 was a new low point as the unit was completely shut out by the Chiefs. In every facet, they were stopped by Kansas City. Ashton Jeanty had just 21 rushing yards. Which wasn’t much less than the 67 yards Smith had on just 10 completions in an ugly 31-0 drubbing.

27. Carolina Panthers (LW: 26)

Last season, Bryce Young showed growth. While he didn’t fill up the stat sheet, he gave Carolina Panthers management reason to believe the former No. 1 overall pick still can be the future of their organization. Unfortunately, he still remains very inconsistent in his third season in the league.
In Week 7, the former No. 1 overall pick again delivered below-average numbers (138 passing yards and a TD). Fortunately, he faced an offense worse than his in the Jets. While they got the W on Sunday, the Panthers’ offense struggled and only managed 13 points.
26. Miami Dolphins (LW: 24)

The Miami Dolphins’ offense disappointed in 2024 after QB Tua Tagovailoa missed much of the first half and top receiver Tyreek Hill showed signs he may be exiting his prime. Things have been worse this season, especially with Hill gone due to a gruesome season-ending leg injury.
After a solid day on the ground in Week 7 — De’Von Achane ran for 82 yards — Tagovailoa completely let his team down. He threw for just 100 yards on 12 completions. But the worst part was three big interceptions that played a huge role in an embarrassing 31-6 loss to a 1-5 Browns team.

25. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 27)

The Arizona Cardinals’ offense had the pieces to be a pretty good unit. The big question was, would everything come together for them in 2025? That will be tough to do after they lost James Conner to a season-ending foot injury early in the year. Plus, Marvin Harrison Jr. hasn’t taken the leap forward they have needed in his second season.
With Kyler Murray still sidelined in Week 7, backup Jacoby Brissett put forth another strong performance. Throwing for nearly 300 yards, 2 TDs, and no INTs. Those touchdowns both went to Trey McBride as the TE was a problem for the Packers all day. The unit managed a respectable 23 points on Sunday, but it, sadly, was not enough to get the win.
24. Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 23)

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ offense was a major disappointment last season. Even when former No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence was available, they struggled. They’re hoping for a turnaround this year with new head coach Liam Coen and the help of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.
After a rough day last week, the slump continued on Sunday in London against the Rams. Lawrence hit on just 23 of his 48 passes and was sacked seven times in an ugly 35-7 loss. The only bright spot was Hunter having the best game of his rookie season by reeling in 101 yards and his first TD through the air.
23. Houston Texans (LW: 22)

Despite some high expectations after adding Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs last year, the Houston Texans‘ offense never really reached its potential during the 2024 season as CJ Stroud battled through a sophomore slump. If he can’t return to the player he looked like in 2023, it will lead to a big shift in how good the Texans are projected to be in the years ahead.
After a pair of good performances the last two weeks, Stroud and the Texans offense were slowed down in their 27-19 loss to the Seahawks. Seattle got good pressure on the QB for much of the day as he was sacked three times, threw an INT, and completed just 23 of his 49 passes in a frustrating road loss.
22. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 19)

The Minnesota Vikings’ offense had high hopes heading into 2025. After Pro Bowler Sam Darnold left in free agency, they gave the keys to the offense to former first-round pick JJ McCarthy. But the youngster has missed much of the season with an ankle injury. Leaving journeyman Carson Wentz to lead the O.
On Sunday, Wentz threw for over 300 yards against his old team, the Eagles. The problem was that he tossed two passes to Philly in Week 7. It was a big reason why they came up just short of the Eagles, 28-22. The turnovers wasted a big day from Jordan Addison as he reeled in 128 yards on nine catches.
21. Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 28)

Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense were expected to be one of the best units in 2025. However, after Burrow suffered an injury that should sideline him for the rest of the regular season, the unit went to terrible places with backup Jake Browning. It led to a desperate move by trading for journeyman Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco in Week 5.
After an okay game in his debut, Flacco looked darn good against rivals, the Steelers, on Sunday. He and his star receivers created magic as he connected on 22 passes just to Chase and Higgins alone, as the QB posted 342 passing yards and 3 TDs in a huge win.

20. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 18)

It seemed like the Atlanta Falcons’ offense made the right move in 2024 when they moved on from expensive free agent addition Kirk Cousins to make Michael Penix Jr. their new starting QB. And he showed signs of his potential in limited action. However, he has struggled at times this year and was even benched in Week 3.
After a pair of strong performances, the Falcons’ offense was bottled up on Sunday. The 49ers’ defense made sure to keep Bijan Robinson under control (40 rushing yards) and made Penix beat them. He could’t, as he hit on only 21 of 38 passes for 241 yards. They managed just 10 points after scoring 34 and 24 in the previous two games.
19. New York Giants (LW: 25)

The New York Giants’ offense has undergone a notable evolution in 2025. Despite signing former Seahawks star Russell Wilson, he was benched after three games for rookie Jaxson Dart. Fellow rookie Cam Skattebo has emerged as a lead back, but they have lost Malik Nabers for the season due to an ACL tear.
Dart again showed his upside by throwing for 283 yards and 3 TDs against a good Broncos defense. The run game also chipped in with 119 yards on the ground, and their 32 points should have been enough to get a W. Unfortunately, missed field goals and an epic 33-point fourth quarter from Denver led to a historic loss this weekend.

18. Chicago Bears (LW: 20)

The Chicago Bears’ offense looked promising early in 2024 but experienced a steady decline for much of last season. It has been the opposite this year. After some early struggles under new head coach Ben Johnson, the Bear O seems to be on an upward swing right now.
For a third straight week, the Bears’ offense put up a positive result. They scored 26, but didn’t have to rely on their passing as the rushing attack dominated the Saints on Sunday. Putting up 222 total yards — 124 from D’Andre Swift — in a fourth straight after an 0-2 start.
17. Washington Commanders (LW: 14)

Top pick and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels was everything the Washington Commanders’ offense could have hoped for and more in 2024. That is why they have even higher expectations this year. However, dual-threat RB Austin Ekeler’s season-ending injury has been a big blow to the unit.
After some strong performances in recent weeks, Jacory Croskey-Merritt was held in check by a Dallas defense that has been terrible in 2025. They also did not let Jayden Daniels run amok. But the biggest takeaway was a hamstring injury to their star QB that could force him to the sidelines for weeks again this season.

16. Denver Broncos (LW: 17)

After some early-season struggles with rookie QB Bo Nix, the Denver Broncos’ offense got much better in the second half of the 2024 season. While they haven’t taken big leaps forward this season, Denver’s offense has continued that momentum and been competitive in 2025.
For three quarters, Denver was completely held in check by the Giants’ defense in Week 7. Fortunately, New York chose to go in prevent mode in the fourth, and the Broncos took advantage by putting up a historic 33 points in the final quarter and eked out a shocking 33-32 win. In the victory, they got 142 total yards on the ground.

15. Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 15)

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense is led by another QB well past his prime in 2025. This time, it will be league legend Aaron Rodgers. While they added DK Metcalf, they lost Najee Harris in free agency and traded George Pickens. They aren’t an elite group, but they continue to get the job done and avoid being the weak link most Sundays.
In a Week 7 battle of 40-somethings, Rodgers played well as he tossed four TDs for the second time this season and avoided any sacks. Plus, Jaylen Warren had a career day with 127 yards on the ground. Unfortunately, the future Hall of Famer’s 2 INTs were a key factor in a surprising 33-31 shootout loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

14. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 16)

The Philadelphia Eagles’ adding Saquon Barkley last year proved to be a paradigm shift moment in the NFC as the former Giants star delivered an MVP-caliber season. Unfortunately, the magic has disappeared on offense as Philly tries to defend their throne.
However, after some frustrating days in recent weeks, the passing game broke out hugely on Sunday. Jalen Hurts posted 326 yards through the air, and all but 22 of them went to disgruntled receivers AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith. It was a day the passing attack badly needed. Getting the win was a bonus.

13. Green Bay Packers (LW: 12)

More was expected from Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs, and the Green Bay Packers offense in 2024. The expectations remain high this year despite an underwhelming showing last season. Especially with the addition of first-round pick Matthew Golden.
In Week 7, the Packers’ offense did what it had to in order to get another victory on Sunday. Love was solid as he hit on 19 of 29 passes for 179 yards, 1 TD, and no INTs. And while Jacobs only posted 55 yards this weekend, his 2 TDs move his 2025 total to eight after seven games.

12. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 13)

While Purdy remained sidelined in Week 7, the team finally had George Kittle back. In the end, he wasn’t needed as Christian McCaffrey dominated the Falcons to help San Francisco get a W. The star running back not only rumbled for 129 yards and 2 TDs on the ground, but he also led the team in catches (7) and passing yards (72) on Sunday.
The San Francisco 49ers brought back the same unit as 2024, sans Deebo Samuel. But they began the season without WR1 Brandon Aiyuk, and unfortunately, they have dealt with early-season injuries to offensive stars George Kittle and Brock Purdy.
11. Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 11)

With Jim Harbaugh as head coach, the Los Angeles Chargers‘ offense relied less on the passing game and aimed to be a more balanced group last season. However, after losing Najee Harris for the season and dealing with injuries to first-rounder Omarion Hampton, the LA offense has had to be pass-heavy in recent weeks.
On Sunday, Justin Jerbert threw for over 400 yards and three TDs, and fifth-rounder Oronde Gadsden had the game of a lifetime with 164 receiving yards. Unfortunately, 2 INTS by the QB and facing an elite Colts offense meant their 24 points in Week 7 were not nearly enough to get the win.
10. Baltimore Ravens (LW: 9)

The Baltimore Ravens‘ offense was one of the league’s elites last season. They delivered a balanced attack led by superstar Lamar Jackson and backed by future Hall-of-Fame running back Derrick Henry. While they were again fantastic to start the year, the injury bug has led to some tough days for the unit in recent weeks.
After an ugly showing last week, the Ravens’ offense again struggled with Jackson sidelined. They played two different QBs on Sunday, and they still only managed just a bit over 100 yards combined. Despite the Rams’ defense focusing on Henry, he nonetheless rumbled for 122 yards on the ground. It still wasn’t enough to help Baltimore’s O score more than 3 points.

9. New England Patriots (LW: 10)

Rookie Drake Maye wasn’t the problem with the New England Patriots’ offense in 2024. Now, with some better pieces around him and Mike Vrabel in charge as head coach, the unit is showing they have a potential franchise QB running the show and a top-10 offense this season.
The Pats offense seems like an efficient machine right now. On Sunday, they got another W by dropping 31 on the Titans. Maye threw for 2 more TDs — and no INTs — but he also ran for 62 on the ground as part of a 175-yard day from the run game. New England is a problem right now.

8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 4)

Baker Mayfield’s career renaissance with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been one of the best stories in football over the last two years. However, running back Bucky Irving has added balance to the offense last season, and it is part of why this unit is one of the best in the game.
Despite having both their top two receivers back on Monday night, the Bucs offense was surprisingly pushed around by the Lions defense. Tampa scored only 9 points, and Mayfield completed just 28 of 50 passes. Evans and Egbuka were targeted 16 times this week but posted just 4 catches for 58 yards.
7. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 8)

The Seattle Seahawks’ offense was a solid group in 2024. The unit has been even better this year by switching from Geno Smith to Sam Darnold at QB. Plus, stud receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba is proving each week why he is a legit and dangerous WR1 in the NFL.
The dynamic combo of Darnold and JSN delivered again on Sunday. In their 27-19 win over the Texans, the WR ended up reeling in 123 of the 213 yards Darnold had this weekend. They also got a nice run game by committee performance in the win, as they posted 118 yards and 2 TDs combined.
6. Kansas City Chiefs (LW: 7)

There were signs that the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense’s best days were behind it. They were not as formidable in 2024, as their receivers were less impactful, and Travis Kelce seemed to be in a big career decline. However, they kept suggesting that if they could get healthy this year, they could be great again. They weren’t lying.
In a dominant win over the Raiders, everybody on offense chipped in to help put up 31 points. Mahomes was, of course, the star with 286 yards, 3 TDs, and 0 INTs through the air. But they also got 152 total yards from the run game and had six different receivers put up 35 or more yards on Sunday. The Chiefs’ offense is starting to strike fear in the AFC again.

5. Los Angeles Rams (LW: 5)

If Matthew Stafford’s back doesn’t end his season early, the Los Angeles Rams offense can be one of the best units in the NFL again because of the strong skill players they have in Puca Nacua, Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams.
After an off game last week, the Rams’ offense was much better in Week 7 as they posted 35 against the Jaguars in another win. While the yards numbers were spectacular, LA was outstanding in the red zone. Stafford had 5 TDs on the day, and Adams pulled in a season high 3 of them.
4. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 6)

Last season was a wash for the Dallas Cowboys‘ offense after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in Week 10. However, with him back healthy and big-play threat George Pickens joining the unit, they should be a unit to worry about in 2025. So far, they have been one of the best offenses in the NFL this season.
The Dallas offense continued to roll in Week 7 in a big game versus the Commanders. Prescott was great again, but the big takeaway is Javonte Williams has done enough to show he really can be an every-down impact running back this season. Giving what is already a top-notch offense great balance. He ran for 116 yards on just 19 carries in their win over Washington this weekend.

3. Buffalo Bills (LW: 3)

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills‘ offense were one of the best in the league all of last season by using a total team effort, smart play, and a balanced attack. It is why the QB won his first MVP award. All of the pieces from last season are back this year, and they should be very good again.
For a second straight week, the Bills’ offense was held in check. The main reason Buffalo has been so good is that Allen has had so few turnovers. However, in Week 6, he had two big INTs. That, along with being sacked four times by the Falcons, played a pivotal role in limiting the pass game all day. It’s why they scored only 14 points in a big upset loss.

2. Indianapolis Colts (LW: 2)

Daniel Jones beating out Anthony Richardson for the Indianapolis Colts’ starting QB job in the summer created hope that the unit could be better in 2025. However, no one expected the start the unit has gotten off to this season.
In Week 7, the Colts’ offense continued to be an absolute monster as they dropped 38 points in a dominant win against the Chargers this weekend. Jones was again stellar as he threw for 288 yards and 2 TDs, and Jonathan Taylor added 3 more TDs to his whopping 10 rushing touchdowns in just seven games.

1. Detroit Lions (LW: 1)

The Detroit Lions’ offense was the cream of the crop for much of last season. They could throw over teams but also bludgeon them with a solid run game. However, many wondered if they could maintain that elite play without former OC Ben Johnson. They have and then some in 2025.
After being held to 17 points last week, the Lions regained momentum in Week 7 by posting 24 points against the Buccaneers. They were led by an outstanding performance from Jahmyr Gibbs as he tallied 136 yards and 2 TDs on just carries on Monday. The Detroit offense can win in a variety of ways each week.
